KS1 and KS2 Mother’s Day Primary Bundle (updated for 2024):
Includes Assembly / Lesson PowerPoint, Postcards, Bookmarks and Word Art:
Assembly or Lesson PowerPoint
I have created this PowerPoint for my Mother’s Day assembly as I couldn’t find anything else that included all of the elements I wanted to cover.
This PowerPoint includes:
When is Mother’s Day?
Why is it celebrated? (origins)
Who do you celebrate with? (includes reference to different types of families and that not everyone has a mother to celebrate with, but can include other carers.)
Gratitude
Mother’s Day around the World
Reflection
Postcards (colour and black and white versions):
16 postcards with large Mother’s Day-related words on the front, then they write their messages on the back. The black and white version is good for the children to colour in the recipient’s favourite colours. The colour version uses pretty pastel shades, ideal for this occasion.
These postcards contain words for a variety of carers (mum, step mum, aunty, granny, nan, special person, and others such as ‘thank you’ and ‘You’re the Best’ (ideal for those giving to a male carer).
Bookmarks (colour and black and white versions):
These 4 bookmarks contain a variety of greetings for Mother’s Day and have space for children to draw a portrait of their mum, or other carer. These are lovely laminated and make an excellent gift.
My Mum activity sheet:
An activity sheet for children to draw a portrait of their mum inside the picture frame and write a description. This includes a duplicate sheet without ‘My Mum’ at the top to use for other carers.
Word Art (colour and black and white versions):
I decided to include two pages of the word art I created for these designs so that you can copy them into your own creations. Each page has 16 designs (one page black and white for colouring in, the other already in pastel shades).
